History of Bethel Athletics
Bethel University is a member of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) and competes in the Mid-South Conference in all sports.
Prior to joining the Mid-South, Bethel played in the Southern States Athletic Conference, TranSouth Athletic Conference and Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. Bethel was a charter member of the Volunteer State Athletic Conference.
Athletic scholarships are available and are awarded by each sport's coach. To be eligible for an athletic scholarship, a student-athlete must meet the NAIA eligibility requirements of at least two of the following three criteria: (1) 18 composite on the ACT, (2) 2.00 grade point average and (3) be ranked in the top 50 percent of his/her graduating class.
Bethel has a rich history of success in intercollegiate athletics which includes national championships in men's soccer, bass fishing, shooting sports, archery, in-line hockey and dance.
The Wildcats have been represented in the NAIA national tournament in men's basketball, women's basketball, football, men's golf, men's soccer, women's soccer, men's tennis and women's tennis and at the NAIA national championships in men's cross country, women's cross country, men's track and field and women's track and field.
In addition, Bethel has been crowned conference champions in baseball, men's basketball, women's basketball, men's cross country, women's cross country, football, men's golf, women's golf, men's soccer, women's soccer, softball, men's tennis, women's tennis, men's track and field, women's track and field and volleyball.
