Volley Cats fall on Senior Day

MCKENZIE, Tenn. – The Bethel Volley Cats were hoping to continue their recent momentum with a win on Senior Day Saturday in Crisp Arena. The Cats had won two in a row including a dramatic comeback over Georgetown Thursday night.

It wasn't to be, however, as Bethel fell 3-0 to the visiting University of the Cumberlands Patriots.

UC won 25-13, 25-13 and 25-23.

Setareh had 27 assists for the Wildcats. Gabriela Dominquez had 11 digs while senior Sami Parker had 12 digs.

Bethel fell to 9-13 overall and 4-6 in league play. Cumberlands improved to 19-9 and 7-2.

Three seniors were honored before the game. Gracie Eaves, Parker and Madelyn Woods were saluted by their teammates and fans.

Coach Starla Cupples said, "All of these girls hold a special place in my heart. I will always remember the times we shared. Seeing players develop on the court is great but being a part of their lives as they find their way into adulthood will always be my favorite part of coaching. Take the lessons of the game and conquer your goals ladies."

The Lady Cats host Lane College Tuesday at 6 p.m. It will be the last home game of the season for Bethel.
