Volley Cats and Campbellsville Battle to the End

MCKENZIE, Tenn. – After beating Lindsey Wilson 3-1 Friday night, the Bethel Lady Wildcats had a quick turnaround Saturday entertaining another conference foe in Campbellsville. The victory was Bethel's fourth in their last five games. The Tigers blanked Freed-Hardeman Friday night in Henderson which was their eighth straight win.  

The marathon saw Campbellsville come from behind to win 3-2.

In a nip and tuck first set the Cats pilled away from an 18-18 dreadlock to win 25-22.

Trailing 20-15 in the second set, the Cats rallied in heart stopping fashion to win 27-25.

Bethel led 22-18 in set three and had several chances to win but the Tigers battled back and won 30-28.

Both squads had their chances at set point in the fourth set, but Campbellsville prevailed winning 30-28.

The Tigers would take the match winning the decisive fifth set 15-8.

Dominika Skoneczna had 20 kills and 11 digs for the Wildcats. Gabriela Dominguez had 17 kills and 11 digs. Alexa McLauren had 12 kills. Sami Parker had 12 digs. Setareh Valibeygi had 12 digs and 43 assists.

Bethel fell to 7-8 overall and 2-2 in league play.

Campbellsville moved to 9-8 and 5-0.

Bethel returns to action Friday at Georgetown. Action begins at 5:30 p.m. CT.
