Women’s Tennis Remains in NAIA Women's Tennis Coaches' Top 25 Rating
KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The Seahawks of Keiser (Fla.) remain atop the fourth NAIA Women's Tennis Coaches' Top 25 Rating of the season, garnering 14 first-place votes. Georgia Gwinnett and Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) hold strong at second and third, while Southeastern (Fla.) and William Carey (Miss.) hold strong to round out the top five in order. SCAD Savannah (Ga.) and LSU Alexandria (La.) are tied for 10th this week, while Xavier (La.) and SCAD Atlanta (Ga.) are tied at 11th. One new team joined the top 25 this week with Cumberland (Tenn.) in at 25.
The Bethel Lady Wildcats remained in the Top 25 at No. 23.
Rating Methodology:
- The rating was rated by a panel of head coaches representing each of the conferences and unaffiliated groupings.
- The Top 25 is determined by a points system based on how each rater rates the best teams. A team receives 30 points for each first-place vote, 29 for second-place, 28 for third-place and so on through the list.
- The highest and lowest ratings for each team (a non-rating is considered a low rating) are removed. The team's rating will be recalculated with an additional point added to each team for every ballot (including discounted ballots) that the team appears on.
- Teams that receive only one point in the ballot are not considered "receiving votes".
