Swim Cats Perform Well in Campbellsville

CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. - The Bethel University Men's and Women's Swim Team competed in a dual meet on Saturday (October 21) with Campbellsville University (Kentucky) for their Senior Day.

  Both men and women displayed stellar performances. On the men's side, Artem Dzun took 1st in the 200 Meter Fly, and 2nd in the 100 Meter Fly.  Eric Edwards brought home 1st in the 100 Meter Breast and 100 Meter Free, Jakub Loboda also took first in both the 50 Meter Free and 100 Meter Fly, Akram Nejjar was 2nd in the 1500 Meter Free and 1st in the 400 Meter Free, and Martin Sener took 1st in the 100 Meter Back and 2nd in the 200 Meter Back. 

 On the women's side, Clara Bjokegren brought home 1st in the 1500 Meter Free, 50 Meter Free, and 100 Meter Free.  Fanni Kovacs was 2nd in the 100- and 200-Meter Breast, and 3rd in the 50 Meter Free.  Sofia Tricoli took 2nd in the 100- and 200-Meter Back, and 6th in the 50 Meter Free.  In the relay division, the Men took 1st in both the 200 Meter Medley Relay (Sener, Loboda, Dzun, Edwards) and the 200 Meter Free Relay (Dzun, Nejjar, Edwards, Loboda).

Coach Kirsten Sass was pleased with the effort and results. "I am really proud of all these swimmers.  Not only for their performances, but their good sportsmanship and support of each other. Every meet results in our growth as a team, reflects where we are with our training, and gives us feedback on where we can continue to fine-tune in preparation for future competitions."

Next up will be the 22nd Annual Sewanee Invitational, October 27-28.
