Lady Cats Take No. 1 Ranked Cumberlands to the Tilt in MSC Semi-finals

WILLIAMSBURG, Ky. –Someone forgot to tell the No. 4 seeded Bethel Lady Wildcats they were heavy underdogs Monday in the semi-finals of the Mid-South Conference Women's Soccer Championships in Williamsburg.

The Cats took No. 1 seeded, and No. 1 ranked the University of the Cumberlands to the wire before falling 2-nil.

UC had a 24-6 advantage in shots and a 13-2 margin in shots on goal.

For over 80 minutes the Cat defense behind the stalwart play of keeper Alicia Perez the Cats kept the Patriots at bay. Perez had ten saves in the game. The two late goals propelled the Pats (16-0) to the conference championship game on Wednesday.

Bethel dropped to 9-7 on the season.

It was the eighth meeting between the two programs. UC leads the series 5-2-1. Bethel's last win against the Patiots was in 2018.
