LaRue & Lady Cats Edge Lady Tigers

MCKENZIE, Tenn. – The (RV) Bethel Lady Wildcats looked to bounce back from a 6-1 road loss to No. 1 the University of the Cumberlands, playing host Thursday night to the Georgetown Tigers.

The Lady Cats did just that with a 2-1 victory over the visitors from Kentucky.

The Tigers took a 1-nil lead at 22:22 on a goal by Laura Beumale. Bekah Clark was credited with the Tiger assist. That would be the only score in the first period.

The second half belonged to the Cats and Audrey LaRue. The junior from Bardstown. Kentucky scored two goals to spark Bethel to the 2-1 victory. LaRue scored the tying unassisted goal at the 53:20 mark. On an assist from Elle Carson, LaRue  scored the winning goal at the 60:18 mark. 

Bethel outshot GC  16-4 and had a 13-3 advantage in shots on goal.

Alicia Perez had two saves in the match.

Bethel moved to 7-3-0 overall and 2-1- 0-in the MSC. The Cats remained undefeated at home on the season at 5-0-0.

The Tigers dropped 5-2-5 and 0-2-0.

The Lady Cats remains at home with a Sunday match at noon versus No. 18 Georgia Gwinnett.
