Lady Cats Win Fifth in a Row with Victory over LWC

MCKENZIE, Tenn. - The (RV) Bethel Lady Wildcats returned to action Wednesday hosting conference foe Lindsey Wilson.

The Lady Cats won their fifth in a row with a 2-1 victory over the Lady Blue Raiders. The Cats are 4-0 at home on the season. Bethel moved to 6-2-0 overall and 1-0 in the MSC.

 It was the 14th meeting between the two programs with the Blue Raiders holding a 12-2 advantage in the series. Bethel has won the last two meetings.

It was the league opener for both squads.

LWC is 0-5-1 overall and 0-1 in league play.

The Lady Cats took a 1-nil lead at the 8:38 mark on a goal by Anna-McCall Johnson. Ainhoa Chriivella was credited with the assist. Bethel's McCall made it 2-nil a few minutes later after an assist from Leni Volker. The Cats maintained that margin at the break. 

The only goal of the second period came at the 2:23 mark on a goal by Lindsey Wilson's Silvia Marchesi.  

Bethel had a 24-7 advantage in shots and a 12-6 margin in shots on goal.

LWC's Alida Leles recorded 10 saves while Bethel's Alicia Perez had four saves for the Wildcats.   

The Lady Cats travel to the University of the Cumberlands Thursday, October 3rd to battle the Patriots in another league matchup.
