Women’s Soccer Falls in Conference Semi-Finals

Williamsburg, Ky. – The No. 2 seed Bethel Lady Wildcats traveled to Williamsburg with high hopes facing No. 3 seed Cumberland University in the Mid-South Conference Championship Semi-Finals Wednesday night.

Earlier in the day the Lady Cats cracked the Top 25 poll at No. 25.

The Cats fought hard but dropped a 2-nil decision to the Phoenix. Bethel dropped to 11-3-2 and will learn their continued postseason status with bids for the national tournament to be released next week.

The Phoenix had a 16-7 advantage in shots and a 9-2 margin in shots on goal.

Bethel's Alicia Perez had seven saves in the match.

Cumberland (13-1-3) advanced to face top seed Cumberlands (Ky.) Friday in the final. Cumberlands defeated Campbellsville earlier in the day to move on.

The tournament final is scheduled for 3 p.m. CT.
