Women’s Soccer Beats Freed-Hardeman in Quarterfinals of MSC Tournament

MCKENZIE, Tenn. – The No. 2 seed Bethel (Tenn.) (10-2-2, 4-1-1 MSC) played host to seventh-seeded Freed-Hardeman (Tenn.) (3-11, 0-6 MSC) Saturday at Wildcat Stadium in McKenzie.

The Lady Cats had no trouble with the visitors from Henderson, winning 10-0 to advance to the semifinals of the Mid-South Conference Championships. Seven different Wildcats scored goals. Kalina Stanisic had the hat trick while Audrey LaRue had two goals.  Carla Cebollada had three assists.  

First period goals by Audrey LaRue, Kalina Stanisic, Kelly Nunes, and Anna McCall gave the Wildcats a 4-nil lead at the break. Viviana Villalobos, LaRue, Stanisis and Carla Cebollada had assists in the period.  

Twenty one seconds into the second period, Bethel struck again. Cebollada scored off an assist from Kelly Nunes. Less than two minutes later, Stanisic scored on an assist from LaRue. Johanna Veldhuizen followed with a goal on an assist from Cebollada. With a 7-nil lead, Larue made it 8-nil on another assist from Cebollada.   Adding to the margin, Stanisic made it 9-nil with a goal. Cebollada had the assist.  With 15 minutes left in the match, Hadley Looper connected after an assist from Natasha Dudley.

Bethel had a 43-0 advantage in shots and a 28-0 margin in shots on goal.

Bethel outscored FHU 20-0 in the two matches played this season.

Bethel moved to 11-2-2 on the year. Freed's season ended at 3-12. 

Cumberlands (Ky.) is the top seed in the tournament.  

The Patriots earned the No. 1 seed going 12-0-3 overall and 5-0-1 in MSC and will host the tournament semifinals on Nov. 8 and the final on Nov. 10.

Cumberland (Tenn.) (12-1-3, 3-1-2 MSC) the No. 3 seed beat sixth-seeded Georgetown (Ky.) (6-7-3, 1-5 MSC) Friday.

No. 4 seed Campbellsville (Ky.) (6-6-3, 3-2-1 MSC) beat No. 5 seed Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) (4-10-1, 2-3-1 MSC) Friday.

Cumberlands takes on Campbellsville on Nov. 8 at 4:30 p.m. ET while Bethel will face Cumberland at 7 p.m. ET. The tournament final is scheduled for Nov. 10 at 4 p.m. ET.
