Women’s Soccer Ties Cumberland University-MSC Tournament Up Next

MCKENZIE, Tenn. – The (RV) Bethel Lady Wildcats entered their regular season finale Tuesday night in McKenzie playing host to No. 12 Cumberland University.

The Lady Cats took a 1-nil lead at the 36:47 mark of the first period. Elle Carson scored on an assist from Audrey LaRue. Cumberland scored two goals to close out the period and led 2-1 at the break.

Bethel's Kalina Stanisic tied the match at the 36:15 mark of the second period.

The game ended in a 2-2 deadlock.

Bethel outshot CU 13-12 and had a 9-7 advantage in shots on goal. Alicia Perez had five saves.

Mid-South Conference Women's Soccer Tournament Bracket Released

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Cumberlands (Ky.) is the top seed in 2023 Mid-South Conference Women's Soccer Tournament, conference officials announced on Tuesday with the release of the tournament bracket.

The Patriots earned the No. 1 seed going 12-0-3 overall and 5-0-1 in MSC and will host the tournament semifinals on Nov. 8 and the final on Nov. 10.

No. 2 seed Bethel (Tenn.) (10-2-2, 4-1-1 MSC) will host seventh-seeded Freed-Hardeman (Tenn.) (3-11, 0-6 MSC) on Nov. 4 at Noon CT. The Wildcats defeated the Lions 10-0 back on Oct. 10.

Cumberland (Tenn.) (12-1-3, 3-1-2 MSC) earned the No. 3 seed and will host sixth-seeded Georgetown (Ky.) (6-7-3, 1-5 MSC) on Nov. 3 at Noon CT The Phoenix picked up an 9-0 victory over the Tigers back on Oct. 4.

No. 4 seed Campbellsville (Ky.) (6-6-3, 3-2-1 MSC) will take on No. 5 seed Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) (4-10-1, 2-3-1 MSC) on Nov. 3 at 6 p.m. CT. The Tigers defeated the Blue Raiders 5-1 back on Oct. 11.

Cumberlands awaits the Campbellsville/Lindsey Wilson winner on Nov. 8 at 4:30 p.m. ET while the Bethel/Freed-Hardeman winner will face the Cumberland/Georgetown winner at 7 p.m. ET. The Tournament final is scheduled for Nov. 10 at 4 p.m. ET.
