
Lady Cats Edge Shawnee State on Senior Day
MCKENZIE, Tenn. –The Bethel Lady Wildcats edged visiting Shawnee State 2-1 in a home match Saturday afternoon.
Bethel moved to 6-4-3 and 2-3-2 in the league. The Bears dropped to 8-5-1 and 2-5.
Nathalie Rojas scored an unassisted goal in the first period for the Cats.
Audrey LaRue scored in the second half after an assist from Ainhoa Chirivella.
The Bears added a late goal but Bethel hung on for the 2-1 victory.
Bethel had a 13-6 margin in shots and a 7-3 advantage in shots on goal. Alicia Perez had two saves for the Wildcats.
Seniors Maisy Sumner, Rafaela Passos, Elizabeth Via and Mary-Kate Via were honored during the game.
Bethel will be back in action Wednesday traveling to Lindsey Wilson for another key MSC match. Action begins in Columbia at 5 p.m. CST
It will be the first of three straight road games to close out the regular season for the Lady Wildcats.
