
Lady Cats Use Big Second Period to Beat UPIKE
MCKENZIE, Tenn. –The Bethel Lady Soccer Cats used a big second period to beat UPIKE 4-2 at Wildcat Stadium Thursday night.
Bethel (RV) moved to 5-1-1 and 1-0 in the MSC. The Bears fell to 3-5-1 and 0-1. Bethel now leads the series 4-0.
Natasha Dudley put the Cats on the board at the 3:32 mark. Johanna Veldhuizen was credited with the assist. The Bears tied the match at the 34:12 mark on a goal by Lauren Johnson. The teams went to the break knotted at 1-1.
The Bears took the lead at 2-1 with an early goal in the second period by Carly Grohn. Elle Carson on an assist Hailey Hibbeler knotted the contest at the 54:31 mark. Veldhuizen put the Cats up a few seconds later after an assist from Carla Cebollada. Carson scored again to give the Cats the 4-2 victory. Ainhoa Chirivella had the assist on the insurance score.
Bethel had a 21-8 advantage in shots and a 15-4 margin in shots on goal.
Bethel remains at home playing host to No. 4 Cumberlands Saturday at 5 p.m.
