
Lady Soccer Cats Blast Bears
PIKEVILLE, Ky. – The Bethel Lady Wildcats used an offensive explosion to overwhelm the Pikeville Bears Thursday afternoon in Pikeville. After scoring four unanswered goals in the first period, Bethel scored 10 goals in the second to win 14-0.
The 14 tallies are the most scored by a Lady Wildcat team since the Lady Cats beat Welch College 20-0 in September 2018.
Bethel's Elvira Martin had four goals. Ashari Bowen had the hat trick with three tallies. Ainhoa Chirivella scored two goals. Single scores were by Maria Fernanda Campos, Elle Carson, Elizabeth Kriebel, Sacha- Gay Brown, and Aracett Solis Navarro.
Chirivella recorded six assists in the match.
Bethel outshot UPIKE 44-2 and had a 31-2 margin in shots on goal.
Bethel improved to 4-9-0 overall and 2-7-0 in the MSC. The Bears fell to 3-12-0 and 0-10-0 in league play. It was UPIKE's 10th straight loss.
Bethel leads the all-time series at 3-0.
The Lady Cats are back in action Saturday at Shawnee State. Action begins at 11 a.m. CST.
