Women’s Soccer Falls to LWC on Senior Day
MCKENZIE, Tenn. – The Bethel Lady Wildcats lost another heartbreaker Saturday, falling 1-0 to No. 11 Lindsey Wilson. LWC's Rayssa Neres De Souza scored the only goal of the game on a penalty kick with just 5:26 left in the first period.
It was Senior Day for Bethel. Shanay Ricketts, Molly Flynn, Maria Fernanda Campos, Ashari Bowen, Elvira Martin, Jodi Butler, Sacha-Gay Brown were honored after the game.
The Cats fell to 3-9 overall and 1-7 in the MSC. Lindsey Wilson moved to 9-2 and 8-0. It was the eighth win in a row for the Blue Raiders.
LWC had a 19-5 advantage in shots and an 8-5 margin in shots on goal.
The Lady Cats return to action Thursday traveling to Pikeville to meet the Bears. Play begins at 3 p.m. CST.
