Lady Cats Visit Old Rival Saturday in Pulaski
PULASKI, Tenn. – The Bethel Lady Wildcat soccer squad visits UT Southern (formerly Martin Methodist) Saturday and will be big underdogs to the undefeated and nationally ranked FireHawks. No. 3 UTS is 7-0 and 3-0 in the Mid-South Conference. Bethel is 3-4 and 1-2.
UTS has outscored their opponents 36-6 on the season. The Hawks are coming off a 14-0 rout of Freed-Hardeman. The Cats are coming off a heartbreaking 2-1 overtime home loss to Cumberland University. Bethel has lost two in a row and three of their last four matches.
Ainhoa Chirivella and Ashari Bowen lead Bethel in scoring with three goals each. Elvira Martin is the team leader in assist s with three. Shanay Ricketts has 40 saves on the season.
It will be the 26th meeting between the two programs with UT Southern holding a 24-0-1 margin in the series. The Hawks have won 16 in a row between the two.
