Lady Cats Rally to Win Atomic City Classic

OAK RIDGE, Tenn. – The Bethel Lady Wildcat golf team won the Atomic City Classic played at the Oak Ridge Country Club in Oak Ridge, Tennessee Monday and Tuesday. The annual event was hosted by Roane State Community College.

Nine teams consisting of 48 players competed on the par 72, 6,010 layout.

After round one the Lady Wildcats trailed UT Southern by two strokes after finishing 36 over par.  

The Cats shaved eight strokes off round two scores at plus 28. From two down, Bethel rallied to beat UT Southern by six strokes.

Every Lady Wildcat finished in the top ten. With top five finishes, Durbin Chacon and Tessa Myers earned all-tournament honors.

Durbin Chacon shot rounds of 81and 78 and finished fourth at 15 over par.

Tessa Meyer was fifth with efforts of 81 and 79.

Merle Chacon placed sixth after rounds of 83 and 78.

Annabelle Cziezerski tied for seventh with scores of 79 and 83.

Martina Gonzalez finished tenth with rounds of 84 and 81.
