Bethel’s Madison Hart is Mid-South Conference Women’s Basketball First Team Selection

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. - The Mid-South Conference 2023-24 Women's Basketball Awards were announced on Thursday.

Bethel's Madison Hart was named to the MSC 1st Team. The sophomore from Yorkville, Tennessee led the Wildcats during the regular season averaging 14.6 points per game. Hart  was second in rebounding, averaging six rebounds per outing. Hart was named MSC Player of the Week twice this year and has won the award four times during her career.

Campbellsville's (Ky.) Kaitlynn Wilks was named the MSC Player of the Year while Freed-Hardeman's (Tenn.) KJ White is the Randy Vernon Defensive Player of the Year. Lindsey Wilson's Taylor Guess earned MSC Freshman of the Year honors.

Campbellsville's Ginger High Colvin was voted the MSC Coach of the Year by her peers while Miranda Denney was named the MSC Assistant Coach of the Year.

Wilks started in all 27 games for the Tigers averaging 13.2 points per game. She shot 58.1 percent (143-246) from the field and averaged 5.2 rebounds per game. Wilks scored 20 or more points six times this season and had a high of 27. She ranks second in the conference in field goal percentage and fourth in the MSC in scoring.

White leads the Lions in steals with 38 and is averaging 1.4 steals per game. She also leads Freed-Hardeman in rebounds averaging 4.9 rebounds per game and totaled seven blocks. White anchors a Lion defense that leads the conference allowing 50.8 points per game.

In her freshman campaign, Guess has played in all 28 games. Guess is fourth on the Blue Raiders averaging 9.4 points per game. She is shooting 47.4 percent from the field. Guess is averaging 3.9 rebounds per game and is second on the team in blocks with 13.

Colvin and Denney led the Tigers to a 26-1 overall record and a 12-0 MSC record and the regular season championship. Campbellsville is currently ranked No. 3 in the NAIA Women's Basketball Coaches' Poll. Colvin earns Coach of the Year honors for the seventh time while Denney earns Assistant Coach of the Year honors for the second time.

Ten players were named to the first team while five players were named to the second team.
