Short Handed Lady Wildcats Fall Short Versus FHU

MCKENZIE, Tenn. - The Bethel Lady Wildcats played host to No. 20 Freed-Hardeman Saturday afternoon in Crisp Arena. FHU used a 22-14 fourth quarter advantage to pull away to win 62-48.

Bethel trailed 40-34 entering the fourth quarter.

Bethel was without two starters in the game. Alyia Lee sat out the game while Kalynn Howard is out for the season with an injury.

Freed shot 40 percent from the floor while Bethel shot just 30 percent from the field. Bethel was 4-of-22 from behind the arc while FHU was 10-of -25 from long distance. Bethel had a commanding margin in rebounding at 34-19 but had 16 turnovers in the game. That led to a 17-10 advantage for the Lions in points off turnovers.

Kalya Gilmore led Bethel with 12 points. Gilmore had a game high nine rebounds.  Madison Hart finished with 11 points while Anya Patterson followed with 10 points. 

FHU's Rachel Satterly had a game high 23 points for the Lady Lions.

Bethel dropped to 13-10 overall and 0-7 in the MSC.

FHU moved to 19-4 and 5-2.

Bethel travels to No. 11 Georgetown Saturday.   GC beat Bethel 67-56 in McKenzie in late January.
