Lady Cats Can’t Hold Lead and Loses to Reinhardt
MONTGOMERY, Ala. - The (RV) Bethel Lady Wildcats led (RV) Reinhardt 27-24 at the half and 46-42 entering the fourth quarter at the Faulkner Thanksgiving Classic Saturday in Montgomery. The Eagles outscored Bethel 28-18 in the final quarter however to win 70-64.
It was Reinhardt's fifth straight win. Bethel dropped their third game in a row. The Eagles improved to 8-3 while Bethel fell to 5-3.
The Cats forced RU into 21 turnovers, but shooting was the key that decided the outcome. Reinhardt shot 42 percent while Bethel shot just 30 percent (22-73) from the floor. Both teams hit nine three pointers. The Lady Cats had a 43-41 advantage in rebounds.
Keely Morrow led Bethel with 24 points. Kalynn Howard knocked down five three-pointers and finished with 20 points. Howard also had four steals. Kyla Taylor had a game high 12 rebounds.
Summer Cramer led Reinhardt with 20 points.
The Cats meet Faulkner Sunday at 2 p.m. It will be the ninth meeting between the two programs. Bethel has won three in a row over Faulkner and leads the series 7-1.
