Wet Grounds & Change of Venue Doesn’t Keep Seniors from Closing Regular Season with a Win

HUNTINGDON, Tenn. – Due to wet grounds the Bethel/Georgetown noon doubleheader wound up being reduced to a single game with a change of venue as well on Saturday.

Despite diligent efforts by Bethel coaches, staff, players and even parents the field was deemed unplayable. Each coaching staff and the league agreed to reduce the day to a single game.

The game was played at 3 p.m. in Huntingdon at the Huntingdon High School Field. The Lady Cats beat Georgetown 10-2.  Six of the ten runs were driven in by seniors.

The scheduled Senior Day ceremony was not held due to time frames and the long delay.

Seniors Kalani Kuroda, Maria Murdaugh, Kennedy Gillespie, Kayla Gillespie, and Kaylie McKinley were all honored at a team banquet Saturday night.
