Lady Cats Drop Doubleheader to Visiting Tigers
MCKENZIE, Tenn. – The Bethel Lady Wildcats dropped a home doubleheader to the visiting Georgetown Lady Tigers Friday afternoon. GC won 4-3 and 5-2.
A late game rally fell short in game one as Georgetown held on for a 4-3 victory. Bethel scored two runs on a Kenndey Gillespie two run RBI double. Unfortunately, the Cats stranded the tying run at second. Kellie Warren had the other Bethel RBI in the fourth. A three run sixth inning proved to be big for the Tigers. Bethel outhit GC 7-6. The Wildcats hurt their cause with three errors in the game. The Wildcats stranded eight runners. Lauren Reimsnyder took the loss while Emma Cummings picked up the Tiger win.
Trailing 4-0 in the fourth of game two, the Lady Wildcats scored two runs in the bottom of the inning to pull to within 4-2. GC scored an insurance run in the sixth to take a 5-2 margin. The Tigers outhit Bethel 9-4. Kinsley Caruthers was charged with the loss. Elle Pruitt was the winner for Georgetown.
Bethel has dropped six games in a row and are 1-9 in their last ten outings.
The teams play a twin bill Saturday at noon. Senior Day ceremonies will take place between the games.
