Lady Cats see Bats Go Silent in Doubleheader Loss at UTS

PULASKI, Tenn. – The Bethel Lady Wildcat softball squad closed out the road portion of their regular season Wednesday traveling to UT Southern for a non-conference doubleheader.

UTS scored two runs in the first inning of game one to grab an early lead. Briley Auvenshine put Bethel on the board with an RBI single in the second. The RedHawks scored three runs in the third to up their margin to 5-1. The Hawks put the game away with an eight run third and won 13-1 in five innings. UTS outhit Bethel 13-3. Lauren Reimsnyder took the loss while Kassidy Davis picked up the UTS victory.

Bethel managed just four hits in game two and fell 3-0. Kinsley Caruthers pitched well but suffered the loss. Stella Gilbreath was the winner for UTS.

Bethel dropped to 13-29 while UTS has now won six games in a row and is 25-19 on the season.

Bethel closes out their regular season Friday and Saturday in MSC play at home hosting Georgetown. The teams play a doubleheader Friday at 2 p.m. and a twin bill Saturday at noon. Senior Day ceremonies will take place between the games.
