Kellie Warren Scores Game Winner over FHU

Win over Freed-Hardeman was Special for Bethel Seniors-Face Blue Mountain Monday

HENDERSON, Tenn. – Bethel's 2-1 victory Saturday in the second game of a doubleheader against (RV) Freed-Hardeman was a much-needed win as the Cats snapped a four-game losing streak but for the Bethel seniors it was even more significant.

For the second time this year, the Cats won with a suicide squeeze. The squeeze off the bat of Kinsley Caruthers who was also the winning pitcher scored Kellie Warren.

The win snapped an 18- game losing streak against FHU. Bethel had not beaten the Lions since March 20, 2016. It ended an eight-year drought in the series which FHU leads 42-16. The teams did not play each other in 2020, 2018 and 2017.

Bethel is 13-25 overall and 4-16 in the league.

Bethel travels to Blue Mountain Monday for a non-conference doubleheader which begins at   2 p.m.

The Toppers are 15-27 and have dropped eight games in a row. The games are being made up as a result of an early April rain-out date.
