Softball Drops Doubleheader to University of the Cumberlands

WILLIAMSBURG, Ky. –For the second day in a row, the Bethel lady Wildcats dropped a doubleheader Sunday to the University of the Cumberlands.

Bethel dropped the first game 10-3 and fell in game two in five innings 11-1.

Game one saw Maria Murdaugh, Kalani Kuroda and Kinsley Caruthers drive in runs but it wasn't enough as the Pats scored runs in the first four innings to win. Each team rapped out nine hits. Bethel committed four errors in the game. Kaylie McKinley suffered the loss.   

Bethel's Madison Carey drove in the lone run for the Cats in game two. No. 9 UC scored in each of the first four innings and broke the game open with five runs in the second inning. Kinsley Caruthers suffered the loss for the Wildcats.

Bethel dropped to 6-12 and 0-4. UC moved to 22-4 and 4-0.

The Patriots have won ten in a row and are 18-0 at home on the season.

Bethel returns to action Saturday  with a doubleheader at Williams Baptist.
