Wildcats Finish 13th in City Auto Memphis Twilight Classic

MEMPHIS, Tenn. - The Bethel Wildcat Cross Country team competed in the City Auto Memphis Twilight Classic last night. The Cats finished 13th out of 20 teams.

Junior Joseph Skoog finished 3rd overall setting the highest finish ever by a Wildcat at this event and also setting the men's four-mile school record with a time of 19:44.

Sophomore Cedrion Cook was the 2nd Wildcat to finish with a time of 22:13 narrowly edging freshman San'Darius Coleman with a time of 22:14. Freshman Chandler Roberson was the 4th Cat to cross the line with a time of 22:22. He was followed by Ariel Devoto, Stetson Childress and Braden Wallace.

One hundred and ninety runners competed in the event.

Coach Brandon Kilburn stated, "I am very proud of the effort to start the season. This is a large race with a large number of spectators so it's really easy to get overwhelmed. I thought we handled ourselves very well and competed strongly. This is race one and we have a long way to go but are happy with the start and look forward to getting back to work. "
