Soccer Cats Shutout Central Baptist Monday in Wildcat Stadium

MCKENZIE, Tenn. – The No. 13 Bethel Wildcats jumped out of conference action Monday hosting Central Baptist at Wildcat Stadium.

The Wildcats won their third straight and moved to 9-1 on the season with a 2-nil victory over the visitors from Arkansas. The Mustangs fell to 4-7-1.

Bethel's Gregory Cousins gave the Wildcats a 1-0 lead with a first period goal. Volkan Celikkol had the assist.

A second period goal by Nathan Hunter added insurance to the Wildcat cause. Juan Rizzo had the assist,

Bethel outshot CBC 34-5 and had a 12-2 advantage in shots on goal.

Noberto Lima Vieira who was named the MSC Defensive Player of the Week earlier in the day recorded two saves for the Wildcats.

Bethel travels to Lindsey Wilson Wednesday to play the Blue Raiders at 7 p.m. CT.
