
Soccer Cats Suffer Upset at Missouri Baptist
ST. LOUIS, Mo. – The No. 13 Bethel Wildcat men's soccer squad lost for the first time this season Saturday night falling 4-3 to Missouri Baptist in St. Louis.
Bethel dropped to 6-1 on the season. The (RV) Spartans improved to 2-1-3 on the year.
The No. 13 Wildcats had outscored their opponents 22-3 entering the game.
A first period goal by Hubert Oduya Kompany allowed the Cats to be tied with MBU at 1-1 at the break.
Jermaine Murhead scored on an assist from Gregory Cousins to tie the game at two all in the second. The Spartans took a 3-2 margin, but Bethel's Stanly Isaac tied the game at the 70:07 mark. MBU took the lead eleven minutes later and went on to hand the Wildcats their first loss of the season.
The Wildcats had a 16-13 advantage in shots. The Spartans had a 7-5 margin in shots on goal.
Bethel returns to action Friday at Georgetown. It will be the conference opener for the Cats.
