Cats Win Battle of the Wildcats at LCU-Vieira Records 200th Career Save

PINEVILLE, La. -TheNo. 24 Bethel Wildcats won the battle of the Wildcats with a 3-0 victory at (RV) Louisiana Christian Saturday night in Pineville.

The match was delayed because of lightning. The women's game was tied in the second period but was ruled a no contest because of an earlier long delay. 

The Cats remained unbeaten with a 3-0 mark. LCU dropped to 0-2-1.  

Bethel jumped out to a 3-nil lead after two goals by Hubert Oduya Kompany and a score by Gregory Cousins in the first period. Stanley Isaac was credited with an assist.

Bethel led 3-0 at the break.

The Cats extended their lead to 4-nil after an Isaac goal in the second period. Adrian Musubi had the assist.

Issac scored again on an assist by Mark Daniel McDaid, giving the visiting Cats a 5-nil margin and win.  

Bethel has outscored their opponents 15-2 on the season.  

Norberto Lima Vieira recorded two saves giving him 200 career saves.

Bethel had an 18-10 margin in shots and a 9-2 advantage in shots on goal.

The Cats remain in the Bayou State with a match at 1 p.m. Monday at LSU-Alexandria.
