Huge Day for Pascal Mohungsi and Wildcats
PORTSMOUTH, OH– Bethel's Pascal Mohungsi had a Haul in Bethel's 4-2 win at Shawnee State Saturday. The senior from Kumba now has eight goals and nine assists on the season after scoring all four goals for the Wildcats. He leads Bethel in points on the year.
Mohungsi's first period unassisted goal gave the Cats a 1-0 lead at the break. His three goals in the second provided the Wildcats the cushion to win. Assists in the second were credited to Mountaga Sall and Juan Penagos.
The Bears outshot the Cats 14-12 and had a 10-9 advantage in shots on goal, but Norberto Lima Vieira was big in the net for the Wildcats with eight saves.
The Wildcats moved to 11-5-1 and 6-4-0 in the MSC. SSU fell to 4-11 and 1-9-0 in the league.
Coach Malang Jarju commented, "We had good form today on the offensive end. We were able to create but I wish we could have scored more. We are looking to keep progressing in the standings, but we are just going to focus on one game at a time."
The Cats are back in action Tuesday facing Freed-Hardeman at 6 p.m. in Jackson. The match will be played at University School Jackson.
