Cats Clip Eagles in Men’s Soccer
MCKENZIE, Tenn. – The Bethel Wildcats and the Life Eagles found themselves in a tight defensive battle Thursday night at Wildcat Stadium in McKenzie. Neither team was able to attack the net often. Bethel had a 3-1 margin in shots on goal. The Eagles had 16-8 advantage in shots.
The only score in the match came on a strike by Alphonso Gooden at the 59:44 mark. Adrian Musabi had the big assist. Gooden took the sole lead in scoring on the season for the Wildcats with his fifth goal.
Bethel improved to 8-3-1 and 3-2 in the MSC. Life dropped to 3-5-1 and 1-3-1.
Coach Malang Jarju commented, " I am really proud of our young men. They showed a lot of character being able to bounce from a tough loss the other day. We hung in there tonight and found a way to win."
Bethel returns to the pitch Saturday playing host to the Cumberlands Patriots. Action begins at 7 p.m.
