Soccer Cats Fall at Georgetown
GEORGETOWN, Ky. – The No. 21 Bethel Wildcat men's soccer squad opened conference play with an inauspicious start at Georgetown College Thursday night, falling 4-1 to the undefeated Tigers. Bethel dropped to 5-2-1 and 0-1 in the MSC. The Tigers moved to 7-0 and 2-0.
The Tigers took a 1-0 lead eight minutes into the match on a goal by Angus Taylor. With six minutes left in the period, Diego Mora extended the Tiger lead to 2-0 with a goal. GC led 2-0 at the break.
Bethel got on the board ten minutes into the second period on a goal by Sergio Baguena. Pascal Mohungsi was credited with the assist. Georgetown regained the momentum when Luca Zellman scored to make it 3-1. GC's Mark Zimmerman scored late in the match to give the Tigers the 4-1 win.
Bethel outshot the Tigers 10-9 but GC had a 6-2 margin in shots on goal.
Bethel travels to Crestview Hills for a 2:30 p.m. match Saturday against Thomas More.
