No. 14 Wildcats & Williams Baptist end in Tie

MCKENZIE, Tenn. – The No. 14 Bethel Wildcats returned home to Wildcat Stadium Monday night playing host to the Williams Baptist Eagles. Deuces were wild as the teams battled to a 2-2 tie. The Wildcats had their chances in the two extra periods, but it wasn't to be.  

The Cats moved to 5-1-1 while the Arkansas visitors left McKenzie at 4-2-1 on the season.

WBC had the only goal in the first period on a score by Jacobo Obradors.

Bethel scored 11 minutes into the second with a goal from Alioune Diop. Justice Nmeregini was credited with the assist.

Eighteen minutes later, the Eagles edged back in front on a goal by Thayrone Cazeca.

It took only four minutes for Bethel to bounce back to knot the match at 2-2. Alphonso Gooden tied the match with one of his patented headers. Pascal Mohungsi, who has a been an assist machine was credited with the dime. 

Neither squad would score in the last seventeen minutes of regulation.

Bethel had a 21-10 advantage in shots and a 6-5 margin in shots on goal.

Bethel's Alejandro Costales recorded three saves in the match.

The Cats go back on the road Thursday for a MSC match at Georgetown. Action begins at 7 p.m.
