No. 12 Wildcats Remain Unbeaten with Win over Eagles

MCKENZIE, Tenn. – The Bethel Wildcats moved to 4-0 with a 3-0 win over visiting Texas A &M-Texarkana Saturday afternoon at Wildcat Stadium. TAMUT dropped to 2-2 on the year.

First period goals by Sergio Baguena and Paschal Mohungsi gave Bethel a 2-0 lead at the break. Rodrigo Atilano and Callum McKenna were credited with assists. Baguena has scored in three consecutive games.

Alphonso Gooden scored Bethel's third goal early (49:45) in the second period.

The Cats had a 19-6 advantage in shots and a 11-2 margin in shots on goal. Bethel's Alejandro Costales was credited with two saves.

Coach Malang Jarju commented, "It wasn't our best performance today. We lacked the intensity and offensive sharpness from Thursday, but we still scored three goals and still have a clean sheet. Good teams always find a way to win and now we will move on with focus for our next two road games against difficult opponents.

Bethel returns to action at John Brown University in Siloam Springs, Arkansas Thursday meeting Science & Arts of Oklahoma at 2 p.m. CST.
