Cats Fall in Mid-South Conference Tournament Title Match

CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – The Bethel Wildcats, ranked No. 8 in the nation and regular season champions of the Mid-South Conference fell short in their quest for the MSC Tournament title falling 2-1 to University of the Cumberlands Friday in Campbellsville.

Nemanja Jovanovic put the Patriots up 1-0 with a goal at the 20:44 mark of the first period. Bethel's Pascal Mohungsi had the equalizer at the 39:27 mark. The teams went to the break tied at 1-1.

Castell Infantes found the net seven minutes into the second half and it proved to be the game winner.

The Wildcats had a 12-10 margin in shots but the Patriots had a 7-4 advantage in shots on goal.

Bethel's Norberto Lima Vieira had four saves on the day.
