John Austin enters his fifth year as the head men's golf coach at Bethel in 2024-25.

Austin is a 1991 Bethel graduate. He was a four-year member of the Wildcat golf team, an all-conference player and part of the first team to participate in a national tournament for Bethel in 1991 in Oklahoma City. He met his wife, Natalie Surber Austin, at Bethel. They have two sons, Reed and Ben, and one granddaughter, Lainey.

Austin is a native of Jackson, Tenn., but has called McKenzie home since 1991 with a brief stint in Memphis. He spent 29 years in the private sector dealing with medical engineering and production.
