Bowling Signs Dickson County Duo

MCKENZIE, Tenn. – Bethel Bowling Coach Clay Boyd announced Saturday the signing of two bowlers from Dickson County High School. Nathan Wilkes and Alex Singleton committed to the men's team.

Wilkes is the son of Robert and Courtney Wilkes and will major in Accounting/Business Administration.

Nathan qualified for the TSSAA State Tournament his junior and senior seasons and helped his team take third place in the tournament.

Wilkes went to the Junior Gold Tournament three times. He was also named athlete of the week.

Nathan excelled in the classroom at DHS with a 3.67 GPA.

He feels his greatest strengths are his passion for the sport, his motivation, and his leadership skills as a teammate.

Singleton is the son of David and Renee Singleton and will major in Business Management and Marketing.

Alex qualified for the Junior Gold Championships in Indianapolis in 2023. He bowled at DHS for four years. He was named to the all-county team and was named the athlete of the week. He helped lead DHS to a 3rd place finish in the state tournament.

Singleton was a member of the Future Business Leaders of America during his prep career.

Alex feels his biggest strengths are his willingness to learn, to change methods as necessary and his abilities with his hand positions.

Coach Boyd shared his thoughts on the signings. "We are thrilled Nathan and Alex have chosen to continue their education and bowling careers at Bethel University. Nathan and Alex exemplify what it means to be a student athlete. They bring a strong academic background along with a well-developed bowling skill set. They are going to be great assets to the future of Bethel University both in the classroom and on the lanes. We are looking forward to sharing their collegiate journey with them as they will represent Bethel University well."
