B.S. Bethel University 2020
Kyler Barnes is entering his 4 th year of coaching and his first as assistant with the Bethel
University Men’s Basketball Program. Coach Barnes started his coaching career with Missouri
Mavericks 14u. Shortly after, he joined the coaching staff at Murray High School, under Tom
Foust, where he was Varsity Assistant and Junor Varsity Head Coach. Coach Barnes helped
coach a team that was the All-A Runner-Up and top ten in Team Defense Percentage in 2023 in
the state of Kentucky.
Barnes started his playing career at Cooter High School playing under David Mathis from 2012
to 2016. He would then go on to play one year at Hannibal-LaGrange University in 2016 before
transferring to Bethel University in 2017 and finishing his collegiate career under Coach Stanley.
Coach Barnes is originally from Cooter, Missouri where he attended Cooter High School from
2012 to 2016. He is the son of Melissa and Andrew Barnes, brother Luke Barnes, and sister
Madison Barnes. Coach Barnes currently resides in Murray, Kentucky.
