Cats Take on Bearcats Thursday in Owensboro

OWENSBORO. Ky. – The Bethel Wildcats will meet the Bearcats of Brescia University Thursday in Owensboro. The scheduled tip-off is set for 3 p.m.

The Wildcats are 8-1 on the season while the Bearcats are 1-5.

Bethel has won four straight games while Brescia has lost four straight games.

The Wildcats are coming an explosive second half performance at Welch College Monday. After trailing 43-37 at the half the Wildcats outscored the home team 67-35 in the second half to win 104-78.

The Cats shot a blistering 61 percent from the floor. Bethel had a 45-22 advantage in rebounding and had 29 assists in the win. The Wildcats had a 56-10 margin in bench points.

Six Bethel players scored in double figures. DJ Starr led the scoring with 16 points. Trevor Chatman followed with 13 points. Daveonne Warfield, Joe Wimberly and Jackson Hayes finished with 11 points each. Brayden Nunnally scored 10 points. Nine Wildcats scored eight points or more.

Welch's Zaimes Hall had a game high 33 points.
