Quick Turnaround Finds Cats Hosting Tigers Saturday in Crisp Arena

MCKENZIE, Tenn. – After losing 95–67 to No. 6 University of the Cumberlands Thursday night, the Bethel Wildcats (12-8, 1-3) will remain at home to host No. 17 Georgetown Saturday at 3 p.m.

The Tigers (15-4. 2-2) upset No. 7 Freed-Hardeman 70-66 Thursday in Henderson. The Lions had won 11 straight. It was FHU's first home loss of the year.

It will be the 14th meeting between the two programs. GC leads the series 10-3 after winning both games last year.

The Wildcats average 77.0 and yield 73.7 points per game.

Querrion Gadson leads Bethel in scoring at 15.2 points per outing. Connor Guthrie averages 10.7 per game.

Coach Jeff Britt is in his 34th season as a head coach and 24th at Bethel. He is 519-369 and is 10th among active coaches for most wins in the country.

GC averages 89.8 and yields 67.7 points per game.

The Tigers have four players averaging in double figures with Cam Brooks-Harris leading the attack averaging 13.3 points per game.

Coach Chris Briggs has been the head coach at GC since 2011 and is 335-87 with the Tigers. The former University of Kentucky Grad Assistant has led the Tigers to nine  NAIA Tournament Appearances - two national championships, three tournament finals and three quarterfinals (2020 there was no national tournament due to COVID-19).
