Cats Take Home Opener over Chargers in Chick -Fil A Classic

MCKENZIE, Tenn. – The Bethel Wildcats enjoyed being at home for the first time on the young season Friday night with an 81-54 win over Southeastern Baptist in the Chick-Fil A Classic.   Bethel is 121-48 all-time in Crisp Arena.

 The Cats ran their record to 4-1 with the victory.  

The Wildcats led at halftime 37-23 and maintained that lead throughout the second half.

Bethel had a 46-28 advantage in bench points and a   51-26 margin in rebounds.

Freshman Ethan Turner led the Cats with 13 points and eight rebounds. Connor Guthrie and Tyler Neely each contributed with ten points each.

Coach Jeff Britt commented, "We did not shoot our free throws well, but we found a way to win. Our board work and bench scoring were big keys. Ethan Turner made a big difference and Tyler and Connor scoring in double figures were key factors as well."  

Blue Mountain Christian beat Crowley's Ridge earlier 70-60.

The Wildcats host Crowley's Ridge Saturday at 4 p.m.

Southeastern and BMCC will play at 2 p. m.
