
Cats & Raiders Clash Thursday in Crisp
MCKENZIE, Tenn. – Two teams off to good starts clash Thursday night at 8 p.m. as Bethel (2-0) and Lindsey Wilson (5-1) open up MSC play in Crisp Arena. Bethel is 112-34 all-time in the building.
It will be the 11th meeting between the two programs with LWC holding an 8-2 advantage in the series. Bethel is 0-4 versus the Blue Raiders in McKenzie.
Jon Brown leads the Wildcats in scoring averaging 19.5 points per game. Jamarius Mayberry follows at 10.5 points per outing. Mayberry leads the squad in rebounding at 11.5 per game. Drew Thomas and Kamron Rose average 10.0 per game each.
Three Blue Raiders average in double figures per game. Elijah Jordan leads his team at 13.0 points per game. Jackson Harlan pops in 11.5 points per contest. Mark Edmond averages 10.8 per game. Jordan leads the team in assists. Lucas Ribeiro leads the Raiders in rebounding pulling down 4.5 per game.
Jeff Britt is in his 22nd year as the head men's basketball coach at Bethel University and his 33rd year as a college basketball coach. His record as a head coach is 483-329 and includes 11 seasons with 20-plus wins.
Chris Starks enters his second season as Lindsey Wilson's men's varsity head coach in 2021-22. Previously, Starks served as an assistant coach for the Lindsey Wilson men's basketball coaching staff for 18 seasons. He is 10-16 with the Blue Raiders.
The Walker Watch:
Bethel senior guard Jarred Walker leads the squad in steals and assists. Walker has 353 career assists which is 12th in program history. Jarred has 176 steals which is sixth in the Wildcat record book.
