Bio

Jamel Warren is entering his fourth season coaching and his second season with the Bethel Wildcats. In 2023, Jamel will serve as the Outside Linebackers Coach and coach the Sam Backers.

In 2022, Warren had his first season at Bethel as the Assistant Defensive Line Coach. During this time, The Wildcats ranked as high as number four and finished 11-1 while winning the Mid-South Conference, going undefeated in Conference games, and going undefeated in the regular season. The Bethel defense only gave up 13.8 PPG (8th in the Country), 18 INTs (7th), and scored five defensive touchdowns (5th).

Warren began his coaching career at the University of Tennessee at Martin as a Student Assistant. After joining the UT Martin staff in the fall of 2020, Warren began working with the defensive backs. During the 2021 spring season, he was switched to working with the linebackers under Coach Brandon Butcher. Warren became a Graduate Assistant in the fall of 2021, working as the assistant Linebackers Coach and assisting in kickoff and punt coverage. During the 2021 season, the UT Martin Skyhawks won the OVC championship and recorded the program's first FCS playoff win.

Warren is a graduate of the University of Tennessee at Martin. In 2017, Warren graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Health & Human Performance with a concentration in Human Performance. In 2023, Warren finished his masters degree in Sports Coaching & Development.
