Bio

Bret Peterson is entering his fourth season coaching and second season as the full-time H-
Backs/Tight Ends Coach for the Wildcats in 2023-24.
Peterson was born in McKenzie, Tennessee and moved to LaFayette, Georgia in 2000. He played
for the Trion High School Bulldogs in Trion, Georgia where he earned a scholarship to come
back to his hometown of McKenzie to play for the Bethel Wildcats in 2014. He played from
2014 to 2018 and picked up some early coaching experience as a student assistant offensive line
coach under Coach Michael Jasper as the head offensive line coach in the 2016 season. After
returning to the field, he finished out his career in the 2018 season when the team went
undefeated in the regular season, and subsequently won the Mid-South Conference BluegrassDivision Championship.

After graduating in 2018 and spending time in the work force, he returned to coaching at Bethel
under Head Coach Michael Jasper in the fall of 2020 as the Graduate Assistant Offensive Line
Coach and Assistant Strength Coach. During his graduate assistantship, he worked alongside
Coach Richard Hutchings and Coach Keith Williams in the offensive line room. He coached at
this position for the length of his graduate degree, until graduating and receiving the opportunity
to be promoted to full time coach of the H-Backs/Tight Ends. He is now entering into his second
year at this position.Peterson has helped to develop offensive linemen and tight ends that has paved the way for someof the top scoring offenses in the nation, one All-Conference Offensive lineman, and two All-Conference honorable mentions for offensive line, a 3000 yard passer, a 1000 yard rusher, a1000 yard receiver in the 2021 spring and fall seasons, and an All-Conference Tight End in the
2022 season.

Peterson is a 2018 graduate of Bethel University with a Bachelors of Science in Athletic
Training and a 2022 graduate of Bethel University with a Master’s in Education. He was a 5-year
Academic All-Conference Player and two year starter on the offensive line.
