Fans Enjoy Annual Purple/Gold Game at Walter Butler Stadium

MCKENZIE, Tenn. – Fans got an early preview of the 2024 football Cats Saturday afternoon at Walter Butler Stadium in McKenzie. It was the Annual Spring Purple/Gold Game.

The sun-splashed crowd enjoyed the game held on Bethel's Annual Preview Day.

The offense beat the defense 40-18 to claim bragging rights on the day.

The Cats open the season at home August 31 hosting Point University in Walter Butler Stadium at 7 p.m.

The Wildcats play five home games this season and six road games. The Wildcats added a home game against Mary Hardin Baylor on September 7. Bethel was originally scheduled to play at St. Andrews on that date, but that game has been moved to September 21.

Bethel advanced to the second round of the NAIA Championships last year before falling to eventual national champion Keiser.

It marked Bethel's seventh appearance in the NAIA FCS Playoffs.

Bethel is 23-3 in the last 26 games the program has played.
