Bethel’s Gilbert Named MSC Defensive Football Player of the Week

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Bethel's Demetrice Gilbert has been named Mid-South Conference Defensive Football Player of the Week, conference officials announced on Monday.

Demetrice Gilbert – Bethel (Tenn.)  – Sr. – Defensive Back – Atlanta, Ga.

• Gilbert had two interceptions and returned both back for touchdowns in the Wildcats' 51-13 victory over Point.
• He took the first interception back 58 yards and the second one for 33.
• Gilbert helped a Bethel defense that shutout Point in the second half.
• He earns weekly honors for the first this season and second in his career.
• Gilbert is now tied for fourth in program history with 11 career interceptions.
