Bethel’s De’Ontay Tate Named MSC Offensive Player of the Week Award

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. -- Bethel's De'Ontay Tate is the Mid-South Conference Bluegrass Division Football Player of the Week, conference officials announced on Monday.

 MSC Bluegrass Offensive Player of the Week

De'Ontay Tate – Bethel (Tenn.) - Sr. - Running Back – Knoxville Tenn.

  Tate rushed for 135 yards and three touchdowns in Bethel's 46-21 win over Campbellsville (Ky.) to close out the Wildcats season.

 He averaged 5.6 yards per carry on 24 attempts in the win. 

 During the game, Tate became the 13th Wildcat to rush for over 1,000 yards in a season.

 He concluded his career with 3,427 rushing yards -- fourth on Bethel's all-time list.

  Tate concluded the season averaging 99.8 yards per game -- which ranks 17th in the NAIA this season.

 His 13 rushing touchdowns rank ninth in the NAIA.

 Tate garners his first player of the week honor this season and the third of his career.
