It was a big day at Bethel University where the cheer team made history today by hosting their first in-person cheer competition since the opening of the institution. The previous meet was virtual due to COVID. The Invitational featured two Cheer teams in the Mid-South Conference. The Bethel University Wildcats and Cumberland University Pheonix.

The competition consisted of two rounds. Bethel led off the beginning of both rounds. In the first round, Bethel scored a total of 78 points. After intermission, Bethel came back to score 77.46 to finish on the day. Cumberland Pheonix started the day off with a 81.15 score and followed with a score of 81.16.

Coach Leigh Carr Commented, "I really enjoy the energy that was brought today into Crisp Arena. Cumberland is a great group and they brought a ton of positive energy and experience into today. I am super happy with our performance and I am proud of my group. We will continue to get better day by day before conference competition. As a group we have some things to work on but I am confident that we will add the touches we need in order to compete."
