
Pats Sweep Cats in Williamsburg
WILLIAMSBURG. Ky. – The Bethel Wildcats dropped their doubleheader Saturday at Cumberlands falling 11-2 and 4-3.
In game one, the Patriots took a 7-0 lead with seven runs on five hits in the second inning.
The Wildcats scored two runs in the top of the fourth on a two-run RBI single by Jack Beck.
No. 9 Cumberlands countered with three runs in the bottom of the fourth and a single run in the eighth to win 11-2.
The Pats outhit the Wildcats 12-8. Bethel committed three errors in the game.
Walker Ward (4-2) suffered the Bethel loss.
Game two saw the Patriots win 4-3. Cumberlands scored two runs in the first inning and two runs in the second to grab a 4-0 lead. Jared Hall hit a three-run homer in the third to pull the Cats to within a run.
The Patriots outhit Bethel 11-5.
Zach Zimmer took the loss for Bethel.
The Wildcats dropped to 14-14 overall and 2-6 in the MSC. Cumberlands improved to 28-6 and 9-0.
