Wildcat Run Ends with Loss to Georgetown
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. -The Bethel Wildcat postseason run came to an end Sunday afternoon with an 8-2 loss to the Georgetown Tigers. The Wildcats had lost 5-2 to the Tigers earlier in the tournament.
Georgetown scored four runs in the second inning to grab the early lead.
Bethel's Luis Aristud drove in a run with a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the second inning.
Aristud scored on a Tiger error in the fourth to cut the Wildcat deficit to 4-2.
Georgetown scored single runs in the sixth and eighth innings to lead 6-2. The Tigers iced the game away with two more runs in the ninth.
Georgetown outhit the Wildcats 13-4.
Zach Zimmer suffered the loss for the Wildcats.
The Tigers improved to 31-24 while Bethel dropped to 32-14.
Georgetown moves on to face Cumberlands on Sunday.
The Cats will wait to see if they qualify for the national tournament with bids being issued on May 9.
